Linux debian on Acer Travelmate 510T

Hardware configuration (of my laptop):
- Processor Intel Celeron 300 MHz with APM support
- 64 MB of memory (32 MB standard)
- Hard disk: IDE 4 GB
- CD-ROM: ATAPI
- Video Chip: NeoMagic NM2160 (MagicGraph 128XD) with 2,5 MB memory
- 12.1" STFT LCD screen, 800x600
- PCMCIA bus: O2Micro OZ6832/6833 Card Bus Controller
- Sound card: ESS-SOLO 1968
- Internal modem: Lucenta Win modem
- Touchpad: Synaptics with two buttons
- External connector: USB, IrDA, PS/2 mouse, VGA, serial port, parallel port
- Net card: 3Com 3c589D on PCMCIA bus
- Pre-loaded software: Windows 98 (italian) (argh!)
Why Linux?
With Windows 98 my laptop freezes every five/ten minutes, I've tried to reinstall Windows 98...
Nothing... Now I've installed Windows 95 OSR 2 with USB support, and now freezes every
ten/twenty minutes... :-) And I hate italian software!
Installing Linux
After debian 2.1 experiment, I choose to use all HD space for linux.
Because I use Debian at work, I
installed Debian also on my laptop. I start the installation with Debian
2.2, booting from first CD. Linux is on partition /dev/hda1.

The installation works fine. Linux start without problems...
I reconfigure kernel 2.2.19 (using modules where possible, i.e. for CD support) and recompile. This is my kernel configuration.
